At Earth Interior Design, we believe health is the cornerstone of a home. That is why every cabinet, wardrobe, TV console and built-in we make uses ENF-grade 9-ply solid wood multilayer board.
ENF is the strictest formaldehyde emission class for wood-based panels. Our MODURA board releases no more than 0.025 mg/m³, a quarter of Singapore's official limit.

What Is the ENF Standard?
ENF is the top formaldehyde emission class in China's GB/T 39600-2021 standard for wood-based panels, the most demanding benchmark of its kind. It sits above the E0 and E1 grades that most carpentry boards are sold under.
| Grade | Formaldehyde emission |
|---|---|
| ENF (what we use) | ≤0.025 mg/m³ |
| E0 | ≤0.050 mg/m³ |
| Singapore official limit | ≤0.10 mg/m³ |
| E1 | ≤0.124 mg/m³ |
Why We Build With ENF-Grade Board

1. Certified for your peace of mind
Every panel we use carries ENF-grade certification, so it meets the most rigorous international safety protocols for a healthier indoor environment.
2. Guardian of family health
Formaldehyde off-gasses from carpentry for months after a renovation. ENF-grade board keeps that exposure as low as possible, which matters most in homes with young children, pregnant women or elderly family members.
3. Future-proof and climate-ready
A 9-ply cross-laminated core resists moisture, swelling and warping, so cabinet doors stay straight and shelves stay level through Singapore's humid climate.
Where We Use ENF-Grade Plywood
Every piece of carpentry in your home, from kitchen cabinets and wardrobes to study desks, TV consoles and shoe cabinets.

ENF is the strictest formaldehyde emission class for wood-based panels, defined in China's GB/T 39600-2021 standard. An ENF-grade board releases no more than 0.025 mg/m³ of formaldehyde, half the E0 limit (0.050 mg/m³) and about a fifth of the E1 limit (0.124 mg/m³).
Every cabinet, wardrobe and built-in we make uses MODURA ENF-grade 9-ply solid wood multilayer board. It emits ≤0.025 mg/m³ of formaldehyde, a quarter of Singapore's 0.10 mg/m³ limit.
ENF is the lowest formaldehyde class available for wood panels, which makes it the best choice for nurseries, children's rooms and homes with pregnant women or elderly family members. You can move in sooner after handover with less of the new-furniture smell.
Yes. A 9-ply solid wood multilayer board is cross-laminated, so it resists swelling, warping and sagging far better than MDF or particle board in Singapore's year-round humidity.
